Doritos Commercial for Crash The Super Bowl!
Story: So Paul came to me with the contest and as always we decided to shoot at his family’s market in Burbank, Handy Market. It looks great on camera (as you can see). My friend Steve and I had this whole elaborate “guy sells his soul” for a bag of Doritos. Basically he trades his girlfriend to the devil for the bag of Doritos since the market is sold out.
The day of the shoot came around and we still didn’t have a solid way of hooking up sound to Steve’s 5D. We were all there, some of us in costume, and we were trying to think of a plan B since we couldn’t record sound. Silent film? Subtitles? No, that was lame. So our great friend (and special effects wizard), Jack, thought of this simple idea that we shot in a little over an hour. Looks great, I couldn’t be happier with the way it came out. Needless to say, I was very skeptical and unenthused about the whole thing until I saw the rough cut at Steve’s house. YAY! Enjoy
